Even though figures like this one are incredibly simple, there is something about this simplicity combined with randomness that I find very attractive and soothing. Given this algorithm to create blocks with weird angles, and turning the size of the blocks down, a sort of mosaic forms that is equally attractive but slightly less soothing:
Using randomness in combination with lines and blocks has always fascinated me. I haven’t been using Processing a lot lately, but I think when I find the time I will visit my previous project that creates lines with fuzz (like drawn with an old-fashioned quill-like pen) and lines that are not perfectly straight. May seem trivial, but it’s actually rather hard to make a computer draw a line between two points that is almost straight!
My name is Marco Hokke. My blog is about the things that interest me and things I might forget if I would not blog them.
