How HTML email looks in web-based clients

June 16th, 2009

If you’re a developper and you need to send HTML emails, while not knowing which email clients are used to view those emails, it can be a real pain to design HTML that looks good in all email clients. Well, never mind good, how about justĀ usable and readable.

Without having a battery of email clients at my disposal and viewing my message in each of them, I found a nifty tool that allows you to view HTML message in different web-based email clients: http://www.contactology.com/email-view.php. It takes the HTML input from a message and renders what that would look like in Hotmail, Gmail, Outlook, AOL, App.Mail, Yahoo or Thunderbird. A great way to quickly check the HTML styling you want to apply to your email messages!
