Garfield’s worst nightmare

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

2 Weeks without coffee. It might even be your worst nightmare.
Since talking to  my dietician 2 weeks ago about stomach acids, I have not had a cup of coffee. At all.  I would normally drink about 5 or 6 cups a day, mostly in the morning. And suffer stomach acids throughout the day.

Grandmother’s Funeral

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

We buried my grandmother today. She was 93 years old. A widow for 10 years.
Of all the feelings and thoughts I have about her death I only want to tell you that she knew it was important to yourself to be kind to and interested in others. That is what gave meaning to Oma’s life [...]

Auschwitz Crematorium

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

This chimney is the last remaining chimney in the Auschwitz camps. It is part of Auschwitz I, the main camp. There is a gas-chamber in the same building (in this picture, just left of the chimney, but you can’t see it as something separate) where tens of thousands of people have died.
It is here that [...]
