A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Sold Out!

November 24th, 2008

Yes!

Last weekend we had three performances (on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), and every show was sold out! In fact, on two nights we had to put up extra chairs because we didn’t want to disappoint some visitors who had not made a reservation. It is really nice to have 60+ people coming to see the show. On Saturday Vincent, Joyce and Carlijn came to see me, and yesterday my dad and Corjan were there. However, what was even more special: Aleksandra saw the show on Saturday too! She flew here on Saturday and she is leaving again on Tuesday, and even though she did not understand a word of the play, she liked it a lot! Apart from the funny language, there is a lot of physical activity and good lightning that is almost as entertaining as Shakespeare’s dialogues.

We have two more performances this weekend, and then it will be over for a while. There is talk of an extra performance in our new theatre when we open, but we have not yet decided to go ahead with it.

This picture of cast and crew is proof that these people can be absolutely still for at least 1/6th of a second:
